I submitted a BBB complaint on July 27th along with a Google Maps review. Since it was submitted, my complaint and subsequent responses were replied to twice within BBB from Alamo Pools. The entire BBB history will be posted in PDF at the bottom of the page.
This page will be primarily addressing their BBB responses, which were mostly lies. Alamo Pools copied and pasted their BBB response to Google Maps as well, which is addressed below.
(View their BBB response below) This is is the exact same response they gave to my Google Maps review, however, they just recently modified it to change some details. I just want to address the outright lies in this response so that they cannot continue to say them. Read their BBB response below prior to reading the rest.
1. They stated when they laid eyes on the pool, it was level. However, this is not true as proven by the photos from various stages of the install including the final day they worked on the pool, in the photos tab. The pool has not been at or even near the industry standard level for a fiberglass pool(1/2 - 1" off) a single time throughout the entire project. This pool should be the easiest to level as it is one of the smallest fiberglass pools you can install (7'x16').
2. Alamo Pools did tell me that they did not want to work in damp ground after I had sent a frustrated message on May 23rd. After they responded, I acknowledged that they shouldn't work on damp ground but then told them that the ground had been dry after days of no rain on several occasions before and no one had came out.
When the workers cracked the edges of the pool, this has nothing to do with "damp" ground as they stated. The edges of the pool cracked because they did not level the pool properly. They did not dig the pool out prior to leveling but instead left the pool completely buried in dirt and only dug holes big enough for their mechanical jacks. Since the pool was completely buried in compacted dirt, when they tried to lift the front of the pool, there was too much weight keeping the pool in the ground and the thin fiberglass cracked. This shifting of the pool also caused the additional crack in the back bottom of the pool that I discovered a couple days later.
3. I did initially, on June 7th via text, agree to have the pool fixed and be compensated with two pallets of grass as well as having my fence be repaired by Alamo Pools. This, however, never happened. I asked on June 7th when work will begin and never received a response. I asked another question on June 10th and didn't receive a response until I send another message requesting a response on June 14th. They stated someone will come out the following day to check dryness but this never happened. One week later, on June 21, I sent another message asking when someone will come out because no one had and I was not told when someone would.
I asked again on June 22 if someone will come out that week, again, no answer. I sent another message on July 11 then again on July 13 after no answer when asking when someone will come out, since no one had shown up. Amor told me on July 13 that she was working on a schedule and will let me know. She told me that same day, work will resume on July 18. I waited and no one showed up on the 18th. I had also not received any communication from Amor explaining why or letting me know. I waited until July 20 and sent another message stating that no one had come out in two months and it looked like they were abandoning the project.
Amor never responded to that message on July 20th. I waited an additional week before submitting a BBB complaint on July 27th. Then, after STILL never receiving a response for another month, I got lawyers involved.
4. They stated I "demanded" a refund, not true. Check the 'Emails' tab above to see exactly what that email read.
5. Alamo Pools stated I involved another contractor and had started negotiations. This was completely made up. I never involved another contractor at any point of this project. It would make no sense that I would contact a second company to then try and force them into terms for building a pool and when they don't want to, threaten them with lawyers. I legitimately couldn't think of a more stupid story if I tried.
6. Lastly, they mentioned many times that I "bullied and harassed" their employees... Look through all of our emails and text messages and you be the judge of that.
